How exciting it is to search for the rarest pieces sometimes very well known sometimes unheard of by the major public scenes and to later find the same piece on a design magazine ready to become the next hit in the vintage design industry? We embark on each and every sourcing trip with this same hope, every single time.
On our first sourcing trip of 2024 the excitement and anticipation were off the charts. Our mission was to uncover the timeless elegance and unparalleled craftsmanship of Italian mid-century furniture and bring it to the attention of the American market. With a keen eye for quality and authenticity, we set off for the heart of Central and Northern Italy, ready to discover sofas, chairs, tables, and all the vintage treasures that Italian mid-century design has to offer. Picture bustling markets, hidden workshops, and the vibrant streets of Milan and the countryside!
One of the highlights of our trip was meeting local artisans and collectors at exclusive vintage markets. These passionate vendors, brimming with knowledge and enthusiasm, shared invaluable insights into the history and provenance of each piece.
We stumbled upon some extraordinary finds, like a stunning teak wall bookcase by Ico Parisi—a true masterpiece that’s bound to remain a design icon for years to come. And the sofas! Oh, the sofas! From Mario Bellini's Le Bambole sofas in pristine condition to Afra and Tobia Scarpa's vintage Soriana sofas and Monk chairs, we were in mid-century furniture heaven. We even found some incredible pieces by Gaetano Pesce and Ettore Sottsass, including chairs, tables, consoles, and floor lamps from the iconic Memphis collection.
